 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Troy D. Evans of the Round Rock Police Department is
 retiring from his position as assistant chief, following an
 exemplary career in law enforcement that has spanned nearly three
 decades; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Evans joined the department on May 2, 1988, and
 over the years, he has risen steadily through the ranks, serving as
 corporal, patrol sergeant, K-9 unit senior sergeant, traffic
 enforcement detail senior sergeant, lieutenant, patrol captain,
 and criminal investigations captain; he was named assistant chief
 of police in November 2011; and
 WHEREAS, His impressive list of accomplishments includes
 helping to implement the Field Training Officer and Leadership
 Development Programs, the first traffic enforcement detail, and the
 IMPACT Unit, as well as refining the recruitment process and
 developing a new performance evaluation process for both
 commissioned and civilian personnel; and
 WHEREAS, Assistant Chief Evans completed more than 2,100
 hours of Texas Commission on Law Enforcement-approved training, and
 he earned certification as a TCOLE instructor; in addition, he
 holds an associate degree in mechanical engineering technology from
 Texas State Technical College and a bachelor's degree in
 organizational leadership from Mountain State University; and
 WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, this esteemed Texan has
 enjoyed the love and support of his wife, Yvonne, and he takes
 tremendous pride in their two children, Cheyenne and Travis; and
 WHEREAS, Assistant Chief Evans has exemplified the highest
 ideals of the law enforcement profession and contributed
 immeasurably to the safety and well-being of his fellow Texans, and
 he may indeed reflect with pride on a career well spent; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Troy D. Evans on his retirement
 from the Round Rock Police Department and extend to him sincere best
 wishes for the future; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Assistant Chief Evans as an expression of high regard
 by the Texas House of Representatives.
