H.R. No. 707
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Trenton Sell of Boy Scouts of America Troop No. 9 in
Lumberton has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and this
accomplishment truly merits special recognition; and
WHEREAS, The Eagle Scout badge is a significant honor, one
bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the scouting
movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding criteria,
Mr. Sell earned the requisite 21 merit badges and successfully
completed an Eagle Scout project of benefit to his community; and
WHEREAS, This fine young Texan began his scouting career in
2005 as a first grader, and he has demonstrated outstanding
leadership ability throughout the years, winning the respect and
admiration of his fellow troop members as he worked toward the
highest rank that the organization offers; he has served as patrol
leader, assistant patrol leader, historian, and librarian, and he
has also earned the prestigious Arrow of Light badge; and
WHEREAS, A senior at Lumberton High School, Mr. Sell is a
trombonist in the Mighty Raider Band and a member of the boys'
varsity cross country team; in addition, he participates in the
youth group at the First Baptist Church of Loeb, and he has
volunteered numerous hours in support of local church and community
service groups; his future plans include joining the U.S. Marine
Corps Reserve and earning a degree in criminal justice; and
WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Sell's dedication to excellence and his
perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy to
stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with pride
on a job well done; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Trenton Sell on achieving the rank
of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Sell as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
