45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Brooke Riggins was honored with a 4-H Gold Star
67 Award at the Young County 4-H Gold Star Banquet on July 30, 2016;
78 and
89 WHEREAS, First presented in 1933, the Gold Star Award was
910 created to recognize the hard work of exemplary 4-H members; it is
1011 the highest county-level achievement prize conferred by 4-H; and
1112 WHEREAS, To be eligible for the Gold Star Award, members are
1213 required to belong to 4-H for a minimum of three years, to complete
1314 projects in three different areas of emphasis, and to participate
1415 in a variety of activities; and
1516 WHEREAS, The daughter of Johnny and Mitzi Riggins, Brooke
1617 Riggins is highly active in 4-H, serving on the Young County
1718 livestock judging team and as vice president of the 4-H County
1819 Council; she is a junior at Olney High School, where she has been
1920 involved with the student council, the National Honor Society, and
2021 varsity softball; and
2122 WHEREAS, Brooke Riggins has brought great credit to her 4-H
2223 club, and the knowledge, skills, and experience she has gained
2324 during her time in the organization will surely serve her well in
2425 the years ahead; now, therefore, be it
2526 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
2627 Legislature hereby congratulate Brooke Riggins of Olney on her
2728 receipt of a 4-H Gold Star Award and extend to her sincere best
2829 wishes for continued success; and, be it further
2930 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3031 prepared for Ms. Riggins as an expression of high regard by the
3132 Texas House of Representatives.
