 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Brooke Riggins was honored with a 4-H Gold Star
 Award at the Young County 4-H Gold Star Banquet on July 30, 2016;
 and
 WHEREAS, First presented in 1933, the Gold Star Award was
 created to recognize the hard work of exemplary 4-H members; it is
 the highest county-level achievement prize conferred by 4-H; and
 WHEREAS, To be eligible for the Gold Star Award, members are
 required to belong to 4-H for a minimum of three years, to complete
 projects in three different areas of emphasis, and to participate
 in a variety of activities; and
 WHEREAS, The daughter of Johnny and Mitzi Riggins, Brooke
 Riggins is highly active in 4-H, serving on the Young County
 livestock judging team and as vice president of the 4-H County
 Council; she is a junior at Olney High School, where she has been
 involved with the student council, the National Honor Society, and
 varsity softball; and
 WHEREAS, Brooke Riggins has brought great credit to her 4-H
 club, and the knowledge, skills, and experience she has gained
 during her time in the organization will surely serve her well in
 the years ahead; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Brooke Riggins of Olney on her
 receipt of a 4-H Gold Star Award and extend to her sincere best
 wishes for continued success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Ms. Riggins as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
