R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Felipa Pena has been named the Tuloso-Midway
Independent School District 2016-2017 Bus Driver of the Year by the
Property Casualty Alliance of Texas; and
WHEREAS, This prestigious award recognizes bus drivers from
school districts throughout the state who have demonstrated
excellence in the areas of leadership, attitude, perseverance,
student and parent relationships, and technical skill; and
WHEREAS, Felipa Pena moved to the Tuloso area with her family
in 1950, and she attended Tuloso-Midway ISD schools while growing
up; she began her career with the district 17 years ago as a regular
education bus driver, and she now primarily serves special
education students; renowned for her dedication, she has won the
respect of parents and students, as well as her colleagues, and she
was the unanimous choice for the Bus Driver of the Year honor; and
WHEREAS, Entrusted with the well-being of young Texans,
school support staff play a vital role in the educational process,
and Felipa Pena may take great pride in her outstanding
contributions in behalf of Tuloso-Midway students; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Felipa Pena on being named the
Tuloso-Midway ISD 2016-2017 Bus Driver of the Year by the Property
Casualty Alliance of Texas and extend to her sincere best wishes for
continued success in her important work; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Pena as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
