| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Julia Yost, a fifth grader at Armstrong Elementary |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Designed to inspire girls to pursue careers in |

| 9 | 10 | | science, technology, engineering, and math, the event is sponsored |

| 10 | 11 | | by the Ford Motor Company in partnership with four Girl Scout |

| 11 | 12 | | councils from around the country; and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Julia Yost was selected by Ford to represent the |

| 13 | 14 | | Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas at the races, where she competed |

| 14 | 15 | | against Scouts from the other three councils; the contest showcased |

| 15 | 16 | | the participants' math and science skills by requiring them to |

| 16 | 17 | | design and build a wooden car; the vehicles were then put to the |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | test in a race that was broadcast on the Today Show, and Julia's car |

| 18 | 19 | | bested the others to finish in first place; and |

| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Through her participation in the Ford Fast Track |

| 20 | 21 | | Races, Julia Yost has set an inspiring example for young girls in |

| 22 | 23 | | deserving of recognition for her achievement; now, therefore, be it |
