| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Locally owned and operated businesses play a vital |

| 6 | 7 | | role in the economy of the Lone Star State, and one such enterprise, |

| 7 | 8 | | Conroy Tractor of Mount Pleasant, celebrated its 66th anniversary |

| 8 | 9 | | in October 2016; and |

| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, In 1950, John and Christine Conroy, along with their |

| 10 | 11 | | two sons, Johnny and Joel, established a tractor dealership in |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | Mount Pleasant; from the very start, the whole family contributed |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | to the enterprise, from selling and repairing equipment to managing |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | the office and sweeping the floors; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Today, Conroy Tractor continues to specialize in the |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | sale and repair of lawn, forestry, and farm tractors, as well as |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | other agricultural equipment, and it is still owned and operated as |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | a family business by Joel Conroy and his son, Jarred, who employ a |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | staff of 15 people; and |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Conroy Tractor has also been a longtime supporter of |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | its community, and its 66th anniversary party at the Titus County |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | Fairgrounds in October 2016 included a fund-raiser for the FFA; and |

| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Providing jobs and valuable services to the region, |

| 23 | 24 | | Conroy Tractor is a Lone Star success story, and the Conroy family |

| 24 | 25 | | and their employees may indeed take great pride in their |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | achievements over the years; now, therefore, be it |

| 26 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Conroy Tractor on its 66th |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | anniversary and extend to Joel and Jarred Conroy and their staff |

| 29 | 30 | | sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
