45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, The pastor of First Baptist Church Melissa, Trey
67 Graham, is serving as Pastor of the Day for the Texas House of
78 Representatives on March 21, 2017; and
89 WHEREAS, For more than a decade, Mr. Graham has ably led
910 First Melissa as its senior pastor; after attaining a bachelor's
1011 degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point, he
1112 served in the U.S. Army as a field artillery officer for nine years;
1213 he then went on to earn a master's degree in divinity from
1314 Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and he has also done
1415 doctoral work in Christian leadership at Gordon-Conwell
1516 Theological Seminary; and
1617 WHEREAS, Blessed with a fine family that includes his wife,
1718 Bretta, and his six children, Pastor Graham is devoted to his loved
1819 ones and his community; before joining First Melissa, he served as
1920 pastor at ParkwayHills in Plano, and he has further distinguished
2021 himself as an author, speaker, and radio host, sharing his faith
2122 with his fellow citizens; and
2223 WHEREAS, Through the years, Pastor Trey Graham has inspired
2324 countless Texans with his message of grace and goodwill, and his
2425 presence in this chamber is indeed an honor; now, therefore, be it
2526 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
2627 Legislature hereby honor Trey Graham for his service as Pastor of
2728 the Day at the State Capitol and extend to him sincere best wishes
2829 for the future; and, be it further
2930 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3031 prepared for Pastor Graham as an expression of high regard by the
3132 Texas House of Representatives.
