H.R. No. 966 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, The pastor of First Baptist Church Melissa, Trey Graham, is serving as Pastor of the Day for the Texas House of Representatives on March 21, 2017; and WHEREAS, For more than a decade, Mr. Graham has ably led First Melissa as its senior pastor; after attaining a bachelor's degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point, he served in the U.S. Army as a field artillery officer for nine years; he then went on to earn a master's degree in divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and he has also done doctoral work in Christian leadership at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary; and WHEREAS, Blessed with a fine family that includes his wife, Bretta, and his six children, Pastor Graham is devoted to his loved ones and his community; before joining First Melissa, he served as pastor at ParkwayHills in Plano, and he has further distinguished himself as an author, speaker, and radio host, sharing his faith with his fellow citizens; and WHEREAS, Through the years, Pastor Trey Graham has inspired countless Texans with his message of grace and goodwill, and his presence in this chamber is indeed an honor; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas Legislature hereby honor Trey Graham for his service as Pastor of the Day at the State Capitol and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Pastor Graham as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
