                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 27, 2017      TO: Honorable Donna Campbell, Chair, Senate Committee on Veteran Affairs & Border Security      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB1018 by Hughes (Relating to the licensing of family residential centers by the Department of Family and Protective Services and the detention of certain juveniles.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Human Resources Code relating to the licensing of family residential centers by the Department of Family and Protective Services and the detention of certain juveniles. Based on information provided by the Department of Family and Protective Services, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a two-thirds vote in both chambers, otherwise it would take effect September 1, 2017. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
