57 relating to the composition of the aviation advisory committee.
68 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
79 SECTION 1. Sections 21.003(a) and (b), Transportation Code,
810 are amended to read as follows:
911 (a) The aviation advisory committee consists of [six]
1012 members appointed by the commission to advise the commission and
1113 the department on aviation matters. The commission by rule shall
1214 determine the number of members of the committee.
1315 (b) A majority of the members of the committee [member] must
1416 have five years of successful experience as:
1517 (1) an aircraft pilot;
1618 (2) an aircraft facilities manager; or
1719 (3) a fixed-base operator.
1820 SECTION 2. Not later than September 1, 2018, the Texas
1921 Transportation Commission shall adopt the rules required by Section
2022 21.003(a), Transportation Code, as amended by this Act.
2123 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2224 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2325 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2426 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2527 Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
