115 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
126 AN ACT
13- relating to the enforcement of conciliation agreements entered into
14- under the Texas Fair Housing Act.
7+ relating to the filing of a civil action by the attorney general to
8+ enforce the Texas Fair Housing Act.
159 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1610 SECTION 1. Subchapter G, Chapter 301, Property Code, is
1711 amended by adding Section 301.134 to read as follows:
1812 Sec. 301.134. CONCILIATION AGREEMENT ENFORCEMENT. The
1913 commission may monitor a respondent's compliance with a
2014 conciliation agreement entered into under this chapter. If the
2115 commission has reasonable cause to believe that a respondent has
2216 breached a conciliation agreement, the commission shall refer the
2317 matter to the attorney general with a recommendation for the
2418 attorney general to file in accordance with this subchapter a civil
2519 action to enforce the agreement.
2620 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
