15 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
16 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 545.062, Transportation Code, is amended | |
17 | 11 | by adding Subsection (d) to read as follows: | |
18 | 12 | (d) An operator of a vehicle equipped with a connected | |
19 | 13 | braking system that is following another vehicle equipped with that | |
20 | 14 | system may be assisted by the system to maintain an assured clear | |
21 | 15 | distance or sufficient space as required by this section. In this | |
22 | 16 | subsection, "connected braking system" means a system by which the | |
23 | 17 | braking of one vehicle is electronically coordinated with the | |
24 | 18 | braking system of a following vehicle. | |
25 | - | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
