79 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
8- SECTION 1. Section 1053.155(b), Occupations Code, is
9- amended to read as follows:

12+ Sec. 1053.155. APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION TO EXAMINATION.
13+ (a) An applicant for a certificate of registration must apply to
14+ the board, on a form prescribed by the board, for admission to the
15+ registration examination.
1016 (b) An application for admission to the registration
1117 examination must be accompanied by evidence satisfactory to the
12- board that the applicant has satisfied the educational and
13- professional experience requirements for the examination adopted
14- by the board under Section 1053.154[:
15- [(1) has graduated from an interior design educational
16- program recognized and approved by the board; and
17- [(2) has professional experience in the field of
18- interior design].
19- SECTION 2. Section 1053.155(c), Occupations Code, is
20- repealed.
21- SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017.

18+ board that the applicant:
19+ (1) has satisfied the educational and experience
20+ eligibility requirements for taking the examination of the National
21+ Council for Interior Design Qualification or a comparable
22+ examination [graduated from an interior design educational program
23+ recognized and approved by the board]; and
24+ (2) has professional experience in the field of
25+ interior design.
26+ (c) The board shall adopt rules establishing standards for:
27+ (1) the recognition and approval of interior design
28+ educational programs; and
29+ (2) the amounts and types of professional experience
30+ necessary for registration examination eligibility.
31+ SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
