46 AN ACT
57 relating to the requirement that the Texas Workforce Commission
68 provide certain employment information for secondary school
79 students.
810 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
911 SECTION 1. Section 302.014(a), Labor Code, is amended to
1012 read as follows:
1113 (a) The commission shall provide the Texas Education Agency
1214 with information at least each quarter, disaggregated by county or
1315 other appropriate region, regarding:
1416 (1) current and projected employment opportunities in
1517 this state;
1618 (2) career and technical education partnership
1719 opportunities with business and industry; and
1820 (3) professional development opportunities for
1921 teachers and learning opportunities for students through industry
2022 mentorships, internships, summer programs, after-school programs,
2123 and career-based student leadership opportunities[, disaggregated
2224 by county or other appropriate region].
2325 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
