| 14 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 15 | 10 | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 3865, Special District | |
| 16 | 11 | Local Laws Code, is amended by adding Section 3865.054 to read as | |
| 17 | 12 | follows: | |
| 18 | 13 | Sec. 3865.054. COMPENSATION; EXPENSES. (a) The district | |
| 19 | 14 | may compensate each director in an amount not to exceed $150 for | |
| 20 | 15 | each board meeting. The total amount of compensation for each | |
| 21 | 16 | director in one year may not exceed $7,200. | |
| 22 | 17 | (b) A director is entitled to reimbursement for necessary | |
| 23 | 18 | and reasonable expenses incurred in carrying out the duties and | |
| 24 | 19 | responsibilities of the board. | |
| 25 | 20 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. | |
