| 12 | 7 | | Refugee Affairs and the Governor's Advisory Committee on |

| 13 | 8 | | Immigration and Refugees. |

| 14 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|---|
| 15 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Chapter 752, Government Code, is repealed. |
|---|
| 16 | 11 | | SECTION 2. The Office of Immigration and Refugee Affairs |
|---|
| 17 | 12 | | and the Governor's Advisory Committee on Immigration and Refugees |
|---|
| 18 | 13 | | are abolished. On the effective date of this Act: |
|---|
| 19 | 14 | | (1) all money other than federal money of the office is |
|---|
| 20 | 15 | | transferred to the Health and Human Services Commission; |
|---|
| 21 | 16 | | (2) all contracts, leases, rights, obligations, and |
|---|
| 22 | 17 | | personal property, including records, in the custody of the office, |
|---|
| 23 | 18 | | other than federal contracts, leases, rights, obligations, and |
|---|
| 24 | 19 | | personal property, are transferred to the commission; and |
|---|
| 25 | 20 | | (3) all remaining federal money, contracts, leases, |
|---|
| 26 | 21 | | rights, obligations, and personal property are transferred as |
|---|
| 27 | 22 | | directed by the director of the Office of Refugee Resettlement of |
|---|
| 28 | 23 | | the United States Department of Health and Human Services. |
|---|
| 29 | 24 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 30 | 25 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 31 | 26 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 32 | 27 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 33 | 28 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
|---|
