| 9 | 7 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 8 | | SECTION 1. Section 2157.068, Government Code, is amended by |
|---|
| 11 | 9 | | adding Subsection (e-3) to read as follows: |
|---|
| 12 | 10 | | (e-3) The procedural requirements of Subsection (e-1) and |
|---|
| 13 | 11 | | the limitation prescribed by Subsection (e-2) do not apply to a |
|---|
| 14 | 12 | | department contract for the bulk purchase of commodity items |
|---|
| 15 | 13 | | intended for use by more than one state agency. |
|---|
| 16 | 14 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 17 | 15 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 18 | 16 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 19 | 17 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 20 | 18 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
