| 11 | 9 | SECTION 1. Section 61.222(c), Education Code, is amended to | |

| 13 | 11 | (c) The coordinating board may grant temporary approval for | |
| 14 | 12 | a period of two years and may renew the approval twice [once]. | |
| 15 | 13 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
| 16 | 14 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
| 17 | 15 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
| 18 | 16 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
| 19 | 17 | Act takes effect September 1, 2017. | |
