| 15 | 8 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 16 | 9 | | SECTION 1. Section 2206.154, Government Code, is amended by |
|---|
| 17 | 10 | | amending Subsection (a) and adding Subsection (b-1) to read as |
|---|
| 18 | 11 | | follows: |
|---|
| 19 | 12 | | (a) Except as provided by Subsections [Subsection] (b) and |
|---|
| 20 | 13 | | (b-1), not later than February 1 of each year, an entity described |
|---|
| 21 | 14 | | by Section 2206.151 shall submit to the comptroller a report |
|---|
| 22 | 15 | | containing records and other information specified by this |
|---|
| 23 | 16 | | subchapter for the purpose of providing the comptroller with |
|---|
| 24 | 17 | | information to maintain the eminent domain database under Section |
|---|
| 25 | 18 | | 2206.153. The entity shall submit the report in a form and in the |
|---|
| 26 | 19 | | manner prescribed by the comptroller. |
|---|
| 27 | 20 | | (b-1) A public school district located in a county with a |
|---|
| 28 | 21 | | population of less than 25,000 is required to file an annual report |
|---|
| 29 | 22 | | under Subsection (a) only if the district's eminent domain |
|---|
| 30 | 23 | | authority information has changed from the information reported in |
|---|
| 31 | 24 | | the most recent report filed by the district under this section. If |
|---|
| 32 | 25 | | for the current annual reporting period the district's eminent |
|---|
| 33 | 26 | | domain authority information is the same as the information |
|---|
| 34 | 27 | | reflected for the district in the eminent domain database for the |
|---|
| 35 | 28 | | previous annual reporting period, the district, not later than |
|---|
| 36 | 29 | | February 1 of the current annual reporting period, shall confirm |
|---|
| 37 | 30 | | the accuracy of the information by electronically updating the |
|---|
| 38 | 31 | | district's previously filed report with the comptroller in the |
|---|
| 39 | 32 | | manner prescribed by the comptroller. |

| 40 | 33 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
