9 | 7 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

10 | 8 | | SECTION 1. Section 418.052, Government Code, is amended to |

11 | 9 | | read as follows: |

12 | 10 | | Sec. 418.052. USE OF FUNDS TO SUPPORT CERTAIN PERSONS |
---|
13 | 11 | | [DIVISION PERSONNEL]. The division may use appropriated funds to |
---|
14 | 12 | | purchase food and beverages for a person [division personnel] who |
---|
15 | 13 | | is [are]: |
---|
16 | 14 | | (1) activated to provide services in response to an |
---|
17 | 15 | | emergency situation, an incident, or a disaster; and |
---|
18 | 16 | | (2) unable to leave or required to remain at the |
---|
19 | 17 | | person's [their] assignment area [areas] due to the emergency |
---|
20 | 18 | | situation, incident, or disaster. |
---|
21 | 19 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
---|
22 | 20 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
---|
23 | 21 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
---|
24 | 22 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
---|
25 | 23 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
