4	4		SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
5	5		WHEREAS, March 23, 2017, marked the 100th anniversary of the
6	6		Washington County Chamber of Commerce; and
7	7		WHEREAS, The mission of this exemplary organization is to
8	8		promote and support a positive economic environment for Washington
9	9		County while preserving the region's natural resources and
10	10		exceptional quality of life; and
11	11		WHEREAS, Since its founding, the Washington County Chamber of
12	12		Commerce has been a volunteer-led nonprofit association whose
13	13		members provide a wealth of resources for new and existing
14	14		businesses; and
15	15		WHEREAS, The chamber offers its members opportunities to
16	16		network with other businesses, market their services and products,
17	17		and remain informed on issues of importance to the business
18	18		community; it is an outstanding resource for new and expanding
19	19		companies and for new residents and people thinking of relocating
20	20		to the area; and
21	21		WHEREAS, The Convention and Visitors Bureau has done
22	22		exceptional work marketing the area to tourists by celebrating the
23	23		rich history and scenic beauty of Washington County; and
24	24		WHEREAS, The Washington County Chamber of Commerce has had a
25	25		profound impact on the economic growth and prosperity of the area,
26	26		and it is truly deserving of special recognition; now, therefore,
27	27		be it
28	28		RESOLVED, That the 85th Legislature of the State of Texas
29	29		hereby commend the Washington County Chamber of Commerce on 100
30	30		years of exemplary service to the community; and, be it further
31	31		RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be prepared for the
32	32		chamber as an expression of esteem from the Texas Legislature.
