                            S.C.R. No. 48


 SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
 WHEREAS, March 23, 2017, marked the 100th anniversary of the
 Washington County Chamber of Commerce; and
 WHEREAS, The mission of this exemplary organization is to
 promote and support a positive economic environment for Washington
 County while preserving the region's natural resources and
 exceptional quality of life; and
 WHEREAS, Since its founding, the Washington County Chamber of
 Commerce has been a volunteer-led nonprofit association whose
 members provide a wealth of resources for new and existing
 businesses; and
 WHEREAS, The chamber offers its members opportunities to
 network with other businesses, market their services and products,
 and remain informed on issues of importance to the business
 community; it is an outstanding resource for new and expanding
 companies and for new residents and people thinking of relocating
 to the area; and
 WHEREAS, The Convention and Visitors Bureau has done
 exceptional work marketing the area to tourists by celebrating the
 rich history and scenic beauty of Washington County; and
 WHEREAS, The Washington County Chamber of Commerce has had a
 profound impact on the economic growth and prosperity of the area,
 and it is truly deserving of special recognition; now, therefore,
 be it
 RESOLVED, That the 85th Legislature of the State of Texas
 hereby commend the Washington County Chamber of Commerce on 100
 years of exemplary service to the community; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be prepared for the
 chamber as an expression of esteem from the Texas Legislature.
