                            SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 102
 In Memory
 of
 Frank Hodges
 WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and
 meaningful accomplishments remain to comfort the family and
 friends of Frank Hodges of Naples, who passed away on
 September 24, 2016, at the age of 84; and
 WHEREAS, The son of B. F. and Ruby Hodges, Frank Hodges was
 born on November 3, 1931, in Gonzales and grew up in
 Breckenridge, along with his four younger siblings; in 1949, he
 married June Freeman, with whom he shared six rewarding decades;
 over the years, they became the loving parents of five children,
 Yvonne, Ramona, Connie, Damon, and Vicki; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Hodges worked for Zack Burkett Company before
 establishing his own business, Hodges and Son Construction, in
 1982, and after many successful years, he turned over the reins
 of the company to his son; recognized for his professional
 contributions, he was awarded a lifetime membership in the Texas
 Association of General Contractors in 2013; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Hodges was the proud patriarch of a family
 that included his 18 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren;
 he was an active member of the Naples Church of Christ, which he
 served as an elder, and he made frequent mission trips to
 Honduras; affectionately known as "Poppa Frank" in his community
 of faith, he helped establish a number of churches, and he
 further gave back by creating a food ministry and by providing
 educational scholarships and humanitarian aid; and
 WHEREAS, Frank Hodges earned deep respect and admiration
 for his achievements as a business leader as well as for the many
 ways that he shared his time and talents to better the lives of
 others, and his memory will forever be cherished by all those who
 knew him; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
 Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the life of Frank Hodges and
 extend sincere sympathy to his loved ones; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this day, it do
 so in memory of Frank Hodges.
