SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 104 WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Douglas and Jane Lee of Mineola celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on September 11, 2015; and WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Lee were joined in matrimony in 1965 at a ceremony held in Mineola; through the years, they have been blessed with a treasured family that includes their children, Theresa Meazell and her husband, Billy, Vance Lee and his wife, Elli, and Kimberly Bates and her husband, David, as well as six grandchildren, Lee Caldwell, Erica Crane, Kelby and Brooke Bates, Cameron Crane, and Harrison Lee; and WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. Lee has owned Lee's Paint and Body Shop for more than three decades, and Mrs. Lee is retired from her post as a department manager at Walmart; today, she serves as a volunteer at her church; in their leisure hours, the couple take pleasure in spending time with their family and taking the occasional casino trip; and WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Lee have enjoyed five decades of abiding love and affection for each other, and they are among an exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting commitment; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th Legislature, hereby congratulate Doug and Jane Lee of Mineola on their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Lee as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
