5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and |

6 | 6 | | commemorates the life of Charles Bryan Isbell, who died on July |
---|
7 | 7 | | 5, 2016, at the age of 77; and |
---|
8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Charles Isbell was born in Anna, Texas, to John |
---|
9 | 9 | | and Juanita Isbell; he was a 1957 graduate of Corsicana High |
---|
10 | 10 | | School; and |
---|
11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, He married his beloved wife, Dianne, in 1958; |
---|
12 | 12 | | during their 58 years of marriage, they raised three children and |
---|
13 | 13 | | were blessed with five grandchildren and four |
---|
14 | 14 | | great-grandchildren; and |
---|
15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, He began his professional career in Dallas as a |
---|
16 | 16 | | teller with Wynnewood State Bank and rose quickly through the |
---|
17 | 17 | | ranks to become a vice president; he became president of Hillside |
---|
18 | 18 | | National Bank at the age of 29; in 1970, after many years in the |
---|
19 | 19 | | banking industry, he moved with his family to Brownsville to join |
---|
20 | 20 | | his brother to form Isbell Seafood; and |
---|
21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Over the course of his career, he received |
---|
22 | 22 | | numerous awards and was active in a wide range of civic and |
---|
23 | 23 | | community organizations; he was a longtime member of the Improved |
---|
24 | 24 | | Order of Red Men and served for a time as its state president; and |
---|
25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, A man of courage, strength, and compassion, he |
---|
26 | 26 | | gave generously to others, and his wisdom, warmth, and valued |
---|
27 | 27 | | counsel will not be forgotten by those who were privileged to |
---|
28 | 28 | | share in his life; and |
---|
29 | 29 | | WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband, father, and |
---|
30 | 30 | | grandfather, and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured |
---|
31 | 31 | | forever by his family and many friends; now, therefore, be it |
---|
32 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
---|
33 | 33 | | Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
---|
34 | 34 | | family of Charles Bryan Isbell; and, be it further |
---|
35 | 35 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
---|
36 | 36 | | his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |
---|
37 | 37 | | Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in |
