SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 125 In Memory of Charles Bryan Isbell WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and commemorates the life of Charles Bryan Isbell, who died on July 5, 2016, at the age of 77; and WHEREAS, Charles Isbell was born in Anna, Texas, to John and Juanita Isbell; he was a 1957 graduate of Corsicana High School; and WHEREAS, He married his beloved wife, Dianne, in 1958; during their 58 years of marriage, they raised three children and were blessed with five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and WHEREAS, He began his professional career in Dallas as a teller with Wynnewood State Bank and rose quickly through the ranks to become a vice president; he became president of Hillside National Bank at the age of 29; in 1970, after many years in the banking industry, he moved with his family to Brownsville to join his brother to form Isbell Seafood; and WHEREAS, Over the course of his career, he received numerous awards and was active in a wide range of civic and community organizations; he was a longtime member of the Improved Order of Red Men and served for a time as its state president; and WHEREAS, A man of courage, strength, and compassion, he gave generously to others, and his wisdom, warmth, and valued counsel will not be forgotten by those who were privileged to share in his life; and WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by his family and many friends; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved family of Charles Bryan Isbell; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Charles Bryan Isbell.
