| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of Church on the Rock in Daingerfield |

| 3 | 3 | | celebrated the 25th anniversary of their church's founding on |

| 4 | 4 | | September 25, 2016; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, In 1991, the church was organized by about a dozen |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | members; they soon appointed co-pastors, Dr. Ed Brockway, who |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | later became associate pastor, and Randy Seybert, who has led the |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | house of worship as senior pastor since the early 1990s; Pastor |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Seybert is supported in all his endeavors by his wife, Elizabeth |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Seybert, whose many responsibilities include administration, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | teaching, counseling, and oversight of the ladies' ministry; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Members met in a private home before renting a vacant |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | church building; originally known as Christian Temple Church, it |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | became an affiliate of Church on the Rock--International in 1996; |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | the following year, the congregation purchased a building to |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | renovate, and the first service was held in the new home on Easter |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Sunday in 2000; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Countless Daingerfield residents have looked to |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | the Church on the Rock for spiritual guidance over the past |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | quarter century, and it is a pleasure to join in honoring the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | church at this special time in its rich history; now, therefore, |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, hereby commemorate the 25th anniversary of the |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Church on the Rock and extend to the congregation sincere best |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | wishes for many more years of shared prayer and fellowship; and, |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | be it further |

| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
