| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | join the citizens of East Parker County and Texans across the |

| 4 | 4 | | state in celebrating February 16, 2017, as East Parker County Day |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | at the Capitol; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, East Parker County is a vibrant community on the |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | western edge of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex that boasts a |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | diverse economy and picturesque parks and green spaces; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The East Parker County Chamber of Commerce was |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | established in 1996 to promote and attract business to the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | region; governed by a board of 11 members, the chamber organizes |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | programs and initiatives throughout the year to promote its |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | economic mission in the community; today, the chamber represents |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | more than 600 businesses; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, East Parker County is a true gem of North Texas |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | and an outstanding place in which to live, work, and play; |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | residents are committed to building a prosperous community while |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | preserving the area's rich heritage and culture, and they can |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | indeed look forward to the future with confidence and pride; now, |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Legislature, hereby commend the citizens of East Parker County |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | for their many contributions to the growth and progress of our |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | state and extend to them best wishes in all their endeavors; and, |
