SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 163 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to join the citizens of East Parker County and Texans across the state in celebrating February 16, 2017, as East Parker County Day at the Capitol; and WHEREAS, East Parker County is a vibrant community on the western edge of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex that boasts a diverse economy and picturesque parks and green spaces; and WHEREAS, The East Parker County Chamber of Commerce was established in 1996 to promote and attract business to the region; governed by a board of 11 members, the chamber organizes programs and initiatives throughout the year to promote its economic mission in the community; today, the chamber represents more than 600 businesses; and WHEREAS, East Parker County is a true gem of North Texas and an outstanding place in which to live, work, and play; residents are committed to building a prosperous community while preserving the area's rich heritage and culture, and they can indeed look forward to the future with confidence and pride; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th Legislature, hereby commend the citizens of East Parker County for their many contributions to the growth and progress of our state and extend to them best wishes in all their endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared as a token of esteem from the Texas Senate.
