| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Bobby Littlefield, who is retiring as the Waco District |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | engineer after 33 years of outstanding service with the Texas |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | Department of Transportation; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Bobby Littlefield has served the state with |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | distinction over the course of his career, and he has been |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | especially effective during his 13 years as a district engineer; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, During his tenure as the Paris District engineer, |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | he oversaw the replacement of the historic United States Highway |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | 69 and United States Highway 75 bridges at the Red River, and he |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | led the expansions of several major traffic arteries; as Waco |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | District engineer, he directed the $2 billion reconstruction and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | upgrade of Interstate 35 through Central Texas and of United |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | States Highway 190 in Bell and Coryell Counties; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, In 2003, he received the department's DeWitt |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | C. Greer Award for excellence in the engineering field, and he |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | has served on the policy boards of the Sherman-Denison |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Metropolitan Planning Organization, the Waco Metropolitan |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Planning Organization, and the Killeen-Temple Metropolitan |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Planning Organization; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, An exemplary public servant, he is respected and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | admired by his colleagues, and his presence at the Texas |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Department of Transportation will be greatly missed; now, |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature, hereby commend Bobby Littlefield on his exceptional |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | service to the people of Texas as an employee of the Texas |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Department of Transportation and extend to him best wishes for |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it further |

| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
