SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 167 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Bobby Littlefield, who is retiring as the Waco District engineer after 33 years of outstanding service with the Texas Department of Transportation; and WHEREAS, Bobby Littlefield has served the state with distinction over the course of his career, and he has been especially effective during his 13 years as a district engineer; and WHEREAS, During his tenure as the Paris District engineer, he oversaw the replacement of the historic United States Highway 69 and United States Highway 75 bridges at the Red River, and he led the expansions of several major traffic arteries; as Waco District engineer, he directed the $2 billion reconstruction and upgrade of Interstate 35 through Central Texas and of United States Highway 190 in Bell and Coryell Counties; and WHEREAS, In 2003, he received the department's DeWitt C. Greer Award for excellence in the engineering field, and he has served on the policy boards of the Sherman-Denison Metropolitan Planning Organization, the Waco Metropolitan Planning Organization, and the Killeen-Temple Metropolitan Planning Organization; and WHEREAS, An exemplary public servant, he is respected and admired by his colleagues, and his presence at the Texas Department of Transportation will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th Legislature, hereby commend Bobby Littlefield on his exceptional service to the people of Texas as an employee of the Texas Department of Transportation and extend to him best wishes for continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
