| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Tomasita Lyle, who is retiring as the minority and |

| 4 | 4 | | women business enterprise coordinator for the Dallas Independent |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | School District after 22 years of distinguished service; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, For more than two decades, Tommi Lyle has promoted |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | and facilitated initiatives designed to increase the opportunities |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | available for minority-owned and women-owned businesses, and her |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | work has provided invaluable support to Texas women and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | minorities who are interested in beginning an entrepreneurial |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | career path; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, In her role as coordinator, she has built strategic |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | partnerships with community businesses and organizations, guided |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | initiatives for business development and training, and served as |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | an advocate for students and aspiring business owners; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Tommi Lyle has worked to increase the number of |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | minority-owned and women-owned businesses in Texas through |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | initiatives such as the Knowledge is Power Business Conference |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | and the Minority/Women Business Enterprise EXPO; she has been |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | honored for her exceptional work by numerous civic organizations |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | and has been featured in the Dallas Morning News and Women's |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Enterprise; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Tommi Lyle is a highly respected member of the |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Greater Dallas business community, and she is being honored by |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | her colleagues at a retirement reception on February 22, 2017; |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Legislature, hereby commend Tomasita Lyle for her outstanding |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | career with the Dallas Independent School District and her many |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | contributions to her community and extend to her best wishes in |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | all her future endeavors; and, be it further |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her |
