SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 204
WHEREAS, The 99th birthday of an esteemed Texan is indeed
cause for celebration, and Daphne Mae Smith of Winnsboro
marked this significant milestone in her life on December 13,
2016; and
WHEREAS, Born in Camp County, Daphne Mae Smith has lived in
the Winnsboro area for more than five decades; and
WHEREAS, She was employed by the Winnsboro Independent
School District for over 40 years; an esteemed teacher of home
economics, she made a positive impact in the lives of countless
young Texans; and
WHEREAS, Respected and admired by all who are privileged to
know her, Daphne Mae Smith is a source of tremendous wisdom
and inspiration, and she may reflect with great satisfaction on a
lifetime of achievement; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
Legislature, hereby congratulate Daphne Mae Smith on her 99th
birthday and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
Daphne Mae Smith as an expression of high regard from the
Texas Senate.
