| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | memories of Marvin H. Maberry Jr. of Daingerfield, who passed |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | away on November 10, 2016, at the age of 78; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A native of Corsicana, Marvin Maberry was born on |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | February 12, 1938; he enjoyed a 25-year career with the Texas |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Department of Public Safety, where he served as an accident |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | investigator; in 1989, after retiring from the department, he |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | created Maberry Centre Bat Homes, a business that specialized in |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | building a variety of innovative dwellings for bats to roost; he |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | was also a longtime volunteer with the Bat House Project run by |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Bat Conservation International, and he made it part of his |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | mission to help the public better understand the important role |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | that bats play in the ecosystem; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Maberry shared a rewarding marriage with his |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | wife, Diane, and he was the proud father of three children, |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Marla, Angela, and Marvin, and a stepdaughter, Lisa; over the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | years, his life was further enriched with the addition of seven |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; he was also a valued |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | member of First United Methodist Church; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Marvin Maberry lived a caring and purposeful |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | life, and he will be remembered with admiration and affection by |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | all who had the good fortune to know him; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Marvin |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | H. Maberry Jr. and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | family: to his wife, Diane Maberry; to his children, Marla |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Bullard, Angela Hill, and Marvin H. Maberry III; to his |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | stepdaughter, Lisa Van Reenen, and her husband, Breda; to his |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | grandchildren, Jamie Strawn, Marissa and Carter Ayers, and Aaron, |

| 34 | 34 | | Allison, Anna, and Ashlee Schaar; to his great-grandchildren, |

| 35 | 35 | | Hannah and Hollye; to his stepgrandchildren, Gavin and Kelby Van |
