| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Florence Roberta Key Fisher on the grand occasion of |

| 4 | 4 | | her 90th birthday; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Florence Key was born on March 1, 1927, in |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | Raymondville, Texas; she married her high school sweetheart, |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Charles Edward Fisher, on October 6, 1945, only five months after |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | they graduated from Port Lavaca High School; they were blessed |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | with two children, six grandchildren, and seven |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | great-grandchildren, and they shared 57 years of marriage until |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | his death in 2003; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Prior to the birth of her children, Florence worked |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | at the Calhoun County clerk's office, and she later served for 26 |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | years as the bookkeeper at Calhoun High School; she and her husband |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | cofounded Shoreline Dredging and Construction in 1968, and after |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | many successful years, they sold the company in 1993; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Florence moved to Austin to be close to her family |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | after Hurricane Claudette hit Port Lavaca in 2003; she is a |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | beloved matriarch within her family and a respected member of her |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | community, and her birthday is indeed cause for celebration among |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | her friends and those who are privileged to share in her life; |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, hereby recognize Florence Roberta Key Fisher as a |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | treasured citizen of Texas and congratulate her on her 90th |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | birthday; and, be it further |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | her as a memento of this special day. |
