| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Dr. Cynthia Lusignolo for her 25 years of outstanding |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | work in the field of education; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Lusignolo is the superintendent of schools |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | for the Texas City Independent School District; she began her |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | career in Wichita Falls, where she served as a first grade |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | teacher and as a mathematics teacher in junior and senior high |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | schools before focusing on a career in school administration; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, A graduate of Midwestern State University, she |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | earned her doctorate in educational leadership from Lamar |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | University in 2010; she served as an assistant superintendent in |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | the Barbers Hill Independent School District and as |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | superintendent of the Liberty Independent School District before |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | joining Texas City Independent School District in 2012; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Over the course of her distinguished career, she |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | has received numerous honors and accolades, and she recently |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | received the 2016 Citizen of the Year award from the Texas |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | City-La Marque Chamber of Commerce; she has also been active in a |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | wide range of community and philanthropic organizations, |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | including Kiwanis International, the Lions Club, United Way, and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Rotary Club; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, A talented administrator, Dr. Lusignolo has had a |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | positive impact on the lives of countless students, and it is |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | truly fitting that she receive special recognition; now, |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Legislature, hereby commend Dr. Cynthia Lusignolo on her |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | commitment to excellence in education and extend to her best wishes |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | for continued success in all her endeavors; and, be it further |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
