SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 250 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Dr. Cynthia Lusignolo for her 25 years of outstanding work in the field of education; and WHEREAS, Dr. Lusignolo is the superintendent of schools for the Texas City Independent School District; she began her career in Wichita Falls, where she served as a first grade teacher and as a mathematics teacher in junior and senior high schools before focusing on a career in school administration; and WHEREAS, A graduate of Midwestern State University, she earned her doctorate in educational leadership from Lamar University in 2010; she served as an assistant superintendent in the Barbers Hill Independent School District and as superintendent of the Liberty Independent School District before joining Texas City Independent School District in 2012; and WHEREAS, Over the course of her distinguished career, she has received numerous honors and accolades, and she recently received the 2016 Citizen of the Year award from the Texas City-La Marque Chamber of Commerce; she has also been active in a wide range of community and philanthropic organizations, including Kiwanis International, the Lions Club, United Way, and Rotary Club; and WHEREAS, A talented administrator, Dr. Lusignolo has had a positive impact on the lives of countless students, and it is truly fitting that she receive special recognition; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th Legislature, hereby commend Dr. Cynthia Lusignolo on her commitment to excellence in education and extend to her best wishes for continued success in all her endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
