| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Dr. Juan Reymundo Anciso for his outstanding work as a |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | professor and as a specialist with the Texas A&M AgriLife |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | Extension Service; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Juan Anciso is a native of Harlingen and a |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | graduate of Texas A&M University, where he earned a bachelor's |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | degree in biology, a master's degree in plant protection, and a |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | doctoral degree in plant pathology; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, After earning his doctorate, he entered into |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | public service as a professor for The Texas A&M University |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | System, and he became a vegetable specialist for the Texas A&M |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | AgriLife Extension Service; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Over the course of his career, Dr. Anciso has |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | dedicated his time to developing educational programs designed |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | to improve and support vegetable production in the state and to |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | promote essential produce food safety measures; he has led |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | efforts to manage plant diseases and pests through a variety of |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | methods while also supporting organic farming education and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | research; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, He has published numerous peer-reviewed articles |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | in scholarly journals and has won multiple awards for his |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | exceptional work in the field of agriculture; he is truly |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | deserving of special recognition; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Legislature, hereby commend Dr. Juan Reymundo Anciso for his many |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | contributions to agriculture in our state and extend to him best |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | wishes for continued success in all his endeavors; and, be |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | it further |

| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
