SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 289 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Dr. Juan Reymundo Anciso for his outstanding work as a professor and as a specialist with the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service; and WHEREAS, Juan Anciso is a native of Harlingen and a graduate of Texas A&M University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in biology, a master's degree in plant protection, and a doctoral degree in plant pathology; and WHEREAS, After earning his doctorate, he entered into public service as a professor for The Texas A&M University System, and he became a vegetable specialist for the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service; and WHEREAS, Over the course of his career, Dr. Anciso has dedicated his time to developing educational programs designed to improve and support vegetable production in the state and to promote essential produce food safety measures; he has led efforts to manage plant diseases and pests through a variety of methods while also supporting organic farming education and research; and WHEREAS, He has published numerous peer-reviewed articles in scholarly journals and has won multiple awards for his exceptional work in the field of agriculture; he is truly deserving of special recognition; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th Legislature, hereby commend Dr. Juan Reymundo Anciso for his many contributions to agriculture in our state and extend to him best wishes for continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
