1	1	SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 351
2	2	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
3	3	recognize the Texas A&M Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory
4	4	on the occasion of the institution's 50th anniversary; and
5	5	WHEREAS, Texas legislators created the Texas A&M
6	6	Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory in 1967 during the
7	7	regular session of the 60th Legislature; the laboratory formally
8	8	opened in College Station in 1969; its mission is to promote
9	9	animal health and protect agricultural health, companion animal
10	10	health, and public health through excellence in veterinary
11	11	diagnostic services; and
12	12	WHEREAS, Today the institution is comprised of two
13	13	full-service laboratories, located in College Station and
14	14	Amarillo, and two poultry laboratories that are in Center and
15	15	Gonzales; the institute's primary clients include animal owners,
16	16	veterinarians, and an array of state and federal agencies; the
17	17	laboratories provide the testing required for the movement of
18	18	animals across international, interstate, and intrastate
19	19	borders; and
20	20	WHEREAS, The success of the Texas A&M Veterinary Medical
21	21	Diagnostic Laboratory can be attributed to a dedicated and
22	22	skilled staff of professionals, technicians, and administrators
23	23	and to the professional relationships the institution has
24	24	developed with the Texas A&M University College of Veterinary
25	25	Medicine and Biomedical Science, practicing veterinarians, and
26	26	members of the general public; now, therefore, be it
27	27	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
28	28	Legislature, hereby commend all who have helped the Texas A&M
29	29	Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory fulfill its mission
30	30	of excellence in veterinary diagnostic service and extend to
31	31	them congratulations on the laboratory's 50th anniversary; and,
32	32	be it further
33	33	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared as an
34	34	expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
