| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | commemorates the life of Lynda Arnold, who died January 5, 2017, |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | at the age of 78; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Lynda Arnold was a well-known North Texas citizen |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | who was respected in her community for her many achievements; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Born July 7, 1938, she was affectionately known as |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | "Texas Lil"; she was the former owner of Texas Lil's Dude Ranch, |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | which was once a successful ranching enterprise and a popular |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | tourist destination in Northlake; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, She was a believer in public service and was a |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | former mayor of Northlake and a former Denton County justice of |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | the peace; throughout her life, she was noted for her Texas |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | attire and her warm personality; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Texas Lil was a woman of courage, kindness, and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | compassion who gave unselfishly to others, and her |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | larger-than-life personality, her strength in the face of |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | adversity, and her enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | will not be forgotten by her family and countless friends; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, She was devoted to her family, and she leaves |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | behind memories that will be treasured forever by those who were |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | privileged to share in her life; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | family of Lynda Arnold: her son, Trace Arnold; and her daughter, |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Dana Arnold; and, be it further |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in |

| 33 | 33 | | memory of Lynda Arnold. |
