SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 41 In Memory of Lynda Arnold WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and commemorates the life of Lynda Arnold, who died January 5, 2017, at the age of 78; and WHEREAS, Lynda Arnold was a well-known North Texas citizen who was respected in her community for her many achievements; and WHEREAS, Born July 7, 1938, she was affectionately known as "Texas Lil"; she was the former owner of Texas Lil's Dude Ranch, which was once a successful ranching enterprise and a popular tourist destination in Northlake; and WHEREAS, She was a believer in public service and was a former mayor of Northlake and a former Denton County justice of the peace; throughout her life, she was noted for her Texas attire and her warm personality; and WHEREAS, Texas Lil was a woman of courage, kindness, and compassion who gave unselfishly to others, and her larger-than-life personality, her strength in the face of adversity, and her enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest will not be forgotten by her family and countless friends; and WHEREAS, She was devoted to her family, and she leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by those who were privileged to share in her life; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved family of Lynda Arnold: her son, Trace Arnold; and her daughter, Dana Arnold; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Lynda Arnold.
