1	1	SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 437
2	2	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
3	3	recognize the annual Forney BBQ Cook-Off and Festival; and
4	4	WHEREAS, This outstanding event is sponsored by the City of
5	5	Forney and attracts thousands of visitors each year; the annual
6	6	cook-off is held during the summer at Forney Community Park; and
7	7	WHEREAS, The Forney BBQ Cook-Off and Festival is
8	8	accredited by the Lone Star Barbecue Society as one of the
9	9	organization's state championship cook-offs, and proceeds from
10	10	the event go to support local charities; and
11	11	WHEREAS, Texans are noted for their love of barbecue, and
12	12	it is hoped that many will attend the Forney BBQ Cook-Off and
13	13	Festival, which is sure to provide outstanding barbecue for the
14	14	most discerning of tastes; now, therefore, be it
15	15	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
16	16	Legislature, hereby extend congratulations to the citizens of
17	17	Forney for hosting the Forney BBQ Cook-Off and Festival and
18	18	extend to all participants best wishes for a successful event;
19	19	and, be it further
20	20	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
21	21	them as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
