SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 437
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the annual Forney BBQ Cook-Off and Festival; and
WHEREAS, This outstanding event is sponsored by the City of
Forney and attracts thousands of visitors each year; the annual
cook-off is held during the summer at Forney Community Park; and
WHEREAS, The Forney BBQ Cook-Off and Festival is
accredited by the Lone Star Barbecue Society as one of the
organization's state championship cook-offs, and proceeds from
the event go to support local charities; and
WHEREAS, Texans are noted for their love of barbecue, and
it is hoped that many will attend the Forney BBQ Cook-Off and
Festival, which is sure to provide outstanding barbecue for the
most discerning of tastes; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
Legislature, hereby extend congratulations to the citizens of
Forney for hosting the Forney BBQ Cook-Off and Festival and
extend to all participants best wishes for a successful event;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
them as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
