1	1	SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 49
2	2	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
3	3	recognize Kassie Gossom for her distinguished leadership as the
4	4	2016-2017 president of the Alpha Xi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa
5	5	Alpha Sorority, Incorporated; and
6	6	WHEREAS, The Alpha Xi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha
7	7	Sorority was established on June 6, 1929; through programs of
8	8	service, the chapter has long worked to encourage young women to
9	9	develop high standards of character and to strive for excellence
10	10	in educational achievement; and
11	11	WHEREAS, Kassie Gossom is a loyal Alpha Kappa Alpha
12	12	Sorority member who has served as a mentor and role model to
13	13	countless sisters, and she has played an integral role in
14	14	numerous Alpha Xi Omega Chapter programs and events; and
15	15	WHEREAS, Kassie Gossom is truly deserving of recognition
16	16	for helping the chapter to fulfill its mission of service and for
17	17	her exemplary leadership as the 2016-2017 Alpha Xi Omega Chapter
18	18	president; now, therefore, be it
19	19	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
20	20	Legislature, hereby commend Kassie Gossom on her many
21	21	contributions to the Alpha Xi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha
22	22	Sorority and extend to her best wishes in all her future
23	23	endeavors; and, be it further
24	24	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
25	25	her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
