SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 49
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Kassie Gossom for her distinguished leadership as the
2016-2017 president of the Alpha Xi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa
Alpha Sorority, Incorporated; and
WHEREAS, The Alpha Xi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha
Sorority was established on June 6, 1929; through programs of
service, the chapter has long worked to encourage young women to
develop high standards of character and to strive for excellence
in educational achievement; and
WHEREAS, Kassie Gossom is a loyal Alpha Kappa Alpha
Sorority member who has served as a mentor and role model to
countless sisters, and she has played an integral role in
numerous Alpha Xi Omega Chapter programs and events; and
WHEREAS, Kassie Gossom is truly deserving of recognition
for helping the chapter to fulfill its mission of service and for
her exemplary leadership as the 2016-2017 Alpha Xi Omega Chapter
president; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
Legislature, hereby commend Kassie Gossom on her many
contributions to the Alpha Xi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha
Sorority and extend to her best wishes in all her future
endeavors; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
