| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Raymond G. Glass II, who is being honored with an |

| 4 | 4 | | Education Award from Acres Home Chamber for Business and Economic |

| 5 | 5 | | Development, Incorporated, at its 28th annual Awards Banquet on |

| 6 | 6 | | March 31, 2017; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, The Acres Home Chamber for Business and Economic |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Development was founded in 1994 to promote the economic vitality |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | of the Acres Homes community; the nonprofit organization provides |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | a variety of programs, seminars, workshops, and professional |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | development opportunities to the community with the goal of helping |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | individuals, small businesses, and entrepreneurs continue on paths |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | to success; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Each year, the organization hosts an awards |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | banquet to honor area citizens who deserve recognition for their |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | exceptional work on behalf of the community; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Raymond Glass is an educational administrator who |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | has built a rewarding career helping at-risk students build paths |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | to success through the use of specialized academic and behavioral |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | programs; he served as an instructor for six years at Harper |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Alternative School before accepting the role of school principal; |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | in addition to helping students develop fundamental skills for |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | the future, Mr. Glass has trained six administrative leaders who |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | went on to share his proven instructional techniques with other |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | school districts in Texas, Louisiana, Florida, Maryland, and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Kansas; and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, A truly exemplary citizen, Mr. Glass represents |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | the highest ideals of civic engagement, and he can indeed take |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | pride in his outstanding educational leadership; now, therefore, |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | be it |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | Legislature, hereby commend Raymond G. Glass II for helping young |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | people to find success and congratulate him on receiving an |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | Education Award from the Acres Home Chamber for Business and |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | Economic Development; and, be it further |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him |
