SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 523
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Raymond G. Glass II, who is being honored with an
Education Award from Acres Home Chamber for Business and Economic
Development, Incorporated, at its 28th annual Awards Banquet on
March 31, 2017; and
WHEREAS, The Acres Home Chamber for Business and Economic
Development was founded in 1994 to promote the economic vitality
of the Acres Homes community; the nonprofit organization provides
a variety of programs, seminars, workshops, and professional
development opportunities to the community with the goal of helping
individuals, small businesses, and entrepreneurs continue on paths
to success; and
WHEREAS, Each year, the organization hosts an awards
banquet to honor area citizens who deserve recognition for their
exceptional work on behalf of the community; and
WHEREAS, Raymond Glass is an educational administrator who
has built a rewarding career helping at-risk students build paths
to success through the use of specialized academic and behavioral
programs; he served as an instructor for six years at Harper
Alternative School before accepting the role of school principal;
in addition to helping students develop fundamental skills for
the future, Mr. Glass has trained six administrative leaders who
went on to share his proven instructional techniques with other
school districts in Texas, Louisiana, Florida, Maryland, and
Kansas; and
WHEREAS, A truly exemplary citizen, Mr. Glass represents
the highest ideals of civic engagement, and he can indeed take
pride in his outstanding educational leadership; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
Legislature, hereby commend Raymond G. Glass II for helping young
people to find success and congratulate him on receiving an
Education Award from the Acres Home Chamber for Business and
Economic Development; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him
as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
