| 5 | 5 | | manufacture of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning |

| 6 | 6 | | equipment and refrigerants; the company currently operates 213 |

| 7 | 7 | | consolidated subsidiaries and 80 production bases in locations |

| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, In 2015, the company broke ground on its largest |

| 10 | 10 | | North American investment to date, the $400 million Daikin Texas |

| 11 | 11 | | Technology Park in Waller; with an area of more than 4.1 million |

| 12 | 12 | | square feet, this impressive new facility is designed to utilize |

| 13 | 13 | | state-of-the-art technology to combine the manufacturing, |

| 14 | 14 | | engineering, logistics, marketing, and sales of a variety of |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | heating and air conditioning products under one roof; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Daikin Industries is expected to provide more |

| 17 | 17 | | than 4,000 new jobs in multiple disciplines to the Houston area |

| 18 | 18 | | by 2018; it is truly fitting that this outstanding company |

| 19 | 19 | | receive special recognition; now, therefore, be it |

| 20 | 20 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th |

| 21 | 21 | | Legislature, hereby welcome Daikin Industries, Limited, to Texas |
